Our visit to the Croatian-American Society and the cinema- educational and fun

Posjet Zagrebu

U srijedu,  23. 5. 2012. mi, oroslavski  PTPI ogranak (The Eagles) išli smo na izlet u Zagreb. Našli smo se na željezničkoj stanici u Zaboku oko 8.15, a krenuli u 8.40. Nakon sat vremena vožnje vlakom, došli smo na Glavni kolodvor u Zagreb. Od tamo smo tramvajem došli do Američko-hrvatskog društva koje se nalazi na adresi Petrova 119. Tamo smo gledali prezentaciju, i tako učili o Američko-Hrvatskom društvu i New Yorku. Na kraju prezentacije bio je kviz. Učenik koji je imao najviše točnih odgovora u tom kvizu (Filip Belinić) dobio je knjigu.  Naučili smo puno o New Yorku, ali i Americi općenito. Na primjer većina nas nije znala da New York ima 5 dijelova, ili da ima 11 sportskih momčadi. Naučili smo i da nema puno gradova u Americi koji su veći od Zagreba, iako je Amerika puno veća od Hrvatske. Nakon posjeta Američko-hrvatskom društvu, tramvajem smo otišli natrag do Glavnog kolodvora, a od tamo u Branimir centar gdje smo pogledali film. Gledali smo Osvetnike, koji su se svima svidjeli. Osim filma, najdraži dio izleta nam je bio kviz, jer je bio vrlo zabavan, ali i poučan. U 18.24 krenuli smo vlakom natrag prema Zaboku. Stigli smo tamo oko 19.30. Svi smo se složili da je dan bio super, te da smo se zabavili i dobro potrošili vrijeme. J

A trip to Zagreb

On Wednesday, 23 May 2012, the Oroslavje chapter of PTPI (The Eagles) went on a trip to Zagreb. We met at the train station in Zabok around 8.15, and we departed at 8.40. An hour of travel later, we arrived at the Main Train Station in Zagreb. From there we went  to the Croatian-American society which is situated at 119 Petrova. There we watched a presentation about the Croatian-American society and New York, and so we learned. We learned that New York has 5 boroughs, and we didn't know that it has 11 sport teams. We also didn't know that there aren't many larger cities than Zagreb in the USA, even though it is much bigger than Croatia. At the end of the presentation, there was a quiz. The student with the most correct answers at the end of this quiz (Filip Belinić) received a book prize. We learned a lot about New York, but also about America in general. After the visit to the Society, we went back to the Main Train Station by tram. From there we went to Branimir center where we watched  The Avengers, which everyone liked. Besides the movie, the most interesting part of the trip was the quiz, because is was fun as well as educative. At 18.24 we departed from Zagreb and headed to Zabok. We got there aroun 19.30. We all agreed that the day was a great experience, and that we had fun and a really good time.

Osvetnici

Nick Fury je direktor Š.T.I.T.-a, međunarodne agencije za očuvanje svjetskog mira. Inicijativa „Osvetnici“, jedan od eksperimenata te agencije, sastoji se od Marvelovih superjunaka: Iron Mana, Nevjerojatnog Hulka, Thora, Kapetana Amerike, Hawkeya i Crne Udovice. Kad globalnoj sigurnosti zaprijete Loki i njegovi suradnici, Nicku Furyju i njegovom timu bit će potrebne sve njihove moći da spase svijet od katastrofe.

Zvijezde filma su agentica Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett johansson), tzv. Crna udovica, agent Clint „Oko Sokolovo“ Barton (Jeremy Renner), dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) ili Hulk, „Iron Man“ Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) ili Kapetan Amerika i Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Njihov suparnik je Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thorov posvojeni brat. Nicka Furyja glumi Samuel L. Jackson. Film je režirao Joss Whedon koji je također napisao scenarij.

Film mi se veoma svidio. Dijalozi su duhoviti s puno humora, glumci su odlični, a specijalni efekti su vrlo realni. Možda ima previše buke i bljesaka prema kraju, u scenama borbe, tako da malo ometa publiku. Sve u svemu, to je odličan film vrijedan gledanja. Preporučila bih ga svima koji vole akciju, superjunake i znanstvenu fantastiku.

The Avengers

Nick Fury is the director of S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peace keeping agency. The Avengers initiative is consisted of Marvel Super Heroes, with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When global security is threatened by Loki and his cohorts, Nick Fury and his team will need all their powers to save the world from disaster.

The stars of the movie are Agent Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), a.k.a. the Black Widow, Agent Clint "Hawkeye" Barton (Jeremy Renner), Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), a.k.a. the Hulk, "Iron Man" Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), a.k.a. Captain America and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Their nemesis is Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor's adopted brother. Nick Fury is played by Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Joss Whedon who also wrote the screenplay. 

I loved the movie. The dialogues are witty with a lot of humor, actors are great, and the special effects are very realistic. There is maybe too much noise and flashes towards the end, in the fight scenes, so it distracts the audience a bit. All in all, it is a great movie worth watching. I would recomend it to all who like action, superheroes and science fiction.
